Foodstock of New Jersey hosted it’s seventh annual event on Saturday, Oct 15th. Foodstock began in 2010 in central New Jersey when parents assisted their children with a school project. The assignment was to provide food to those less fortunate and in need. This was Concorde Worldwide second year where the employees collected and donated to the the food drive. Once the food was collected, Concorde loaded up their van and headed to Freehold Township Independent Firehouse #1 where the event was held. Over the years, FoodStock has collected over 170,000 lbs of food and raised more than $70,000 for area food pantries!
Last year’s event brought in almost 55,000 pounds of food. The organizers’ goal for this year is 60,000 pounds. The event has assembled a team of nearly 100 volunteers. Today the mission continues to inspire young people to participate in community. Participants range from schools, scouts and other youth groups throughout Monmouth County.
